8th Annual Veterans Summit: Saturday, March 7 at UVM’s Davis Center

February 20, 2020 by Sarah Phillips

Dear Veterans, Supporters, and Summiteers,

On behalf of the Northern Vermont University, I’d like to direct your attention to this exciting update concerning the 8th Annual Veterans Summit.  The Summit will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at UVM’s Davis Center form 8:00 am to 3:00 pm:  https://www.uvm.edu/daviscenter/directions-parking

Driving directions are attached.

REGISTRATION is OPEN
All are welcome to attend, but advanced registration is required.  There is no cost to attend or to have an exhibitor table.  Meals will be provided at no extra charge for advance registrants.

Register today (attendees and exhibitors) at: https://www.northernvermont.edu/veteranssummit
Note: There are a few exhibitor slots left.  To ensure you get a table, please register today.  Deadline for exhibitor registration is February 18th.  For assistance or questions related to registration, please contact Jessie Dall at Jessie.Dall@northernvermont.edu

We proudly present our keynote speakers from SWEETHEARTS & HEROES: Rick Yarosh and Tom Murphy will discuss the importance of individual meaning, significance, and our deep need for human acceptance. Murphy, of St. Albans, is a former professional MMA fighter and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competitor, and the cofounder of the motivational speakers group Sweethearts & Heroes. Yarosh is a Retired Sergeant with the United States Army; he was deployed to Iraq in December 2005 where he spent nine months before being severely injured by an IED. The explosion left Yarosh with 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 60 percent of his body, and he spent six months at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Yarosh now speaks regularly about overcoming adversity and, together with Murphy, has bought a message of “H.O.P.E. (Hold On Possibilities Exist)” to over two million students, parents and teachers.
