A Count & Survey of People Experiencing Homelessness
The Night of January 31, 2018
Communities across the nation annually conduct a Point in Time Count of people experiencing homelessness to better understand & plan for the needs of some of our most vulnerable community members.
During the 2017 Point in Time Count, 1,225 Vermonters were experiencing literal homelessness; 25% of them were children, 11% were staying in unsheltered locations, and 28% reported having a severe mental illness. For more on last Year’s Count, view the report.
