“I am honored to work with the Coalition,” Hahn said. “With a very strong grassroots membership VCEH has effectively helped to reduce homelessness in Vermont. The organization is poised to expand its impact particularly in light of the post-pandemic loss of hotel rooms for those experiencing homelessness.”
The VCEH board of directors created the executive director position to increase their impact in ending homelessness. In particular, VCEH will increase training and technical assistance for local shelter and service providers and expand its advocacy and education efforts. Capstone Community Action in central Vermont is serving as an interim fiscal agent for VCEH through this period of growth and transition.
About VCEH
The Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness supports the work of local organizations who help identify housing for those experiencing homelessness. It connects local organizations to a broader network of stakeholders; administers federal funds; and advocates for funding and policy changes. This work is guided by the goal that people living in Vermont have a safe, stable, affordable home and if homelessness occurs it is a brief and rare occurrence during which everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Formed in the early 1990s, VCEH’s mission has been to end homelessness in Vermont through sharing information, developing resources, providing a forum for decision-making and to promote decent, safe, fair, and affordable shelter for all.
