Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness

The Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness seeks to ensure that people living in Vermont have a safe, stable, affordable home, and — if homelessness does occur — it is brief, rare, and non-recurring and those experiencing homelessness are treated with dignity and respect.

VCEH Summer Summit

June 2, 2022 by Vermont Coalition To End Homelessness

VCEH is hosting a summer summit and lunch with housing panels, guest speakers, breakout discussions, and more! REGISTER HERE!

Join VCEH from 10 AM – 2:30 PM on July 28th, 2022 for a summer lunch with housing panels, guest speakers, breakout discussions, & the first annual partner of the year award! All are welcome to this free event!

The event will be a chance housing practitioners and people with lived experience to gather in person and build connections across the state, engage in meaningful discussions around housing and homelessness that will impact the direction of our collective response to homelessness, and gather energy for the upcoming year ahead!

We will begin the day with coffee and breakfast treats, followed by honoring Rita Markley of the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS), founder and first chairperson of both the Statewide Coalition to End Homelessness and Chittenden County Homelessness Alliance. Markley is retiring after 30 years of serving as the Executive Director for COTS. She will be introduced by Paul Dragon of CVOEO.

Next, we’ll hear from a panel of shelter directors on Lessons from the Pandemic, speaking on innovations made during this time that can be implemented going forward featuring Rick DeAngelis of Good Samaritan Haven, Kim Anetsberger of Lamoille Community House, and Heidi Lacey of Charter House.

Our keynote speaker will be Hilary Melton, Executive Director of Pathways Vermont. Pathways advocates for the rights of people to live without stigma and discrimination and promote civil rights, community integration, healthcare, affordable housing, and employment for all.

Sarah Phillips from the Vermont Office of Economic Opportunity will present the VCEH Partners of the Year awards, recognizing the staff of emergency shelters and their response to homelessness in the pandemic.

Finally, we’ll provide an opportunity for casual breakout discussions, in which attendees can join a casual discussion around topics relating to homelessness and housing in Vermont.

We can’t wait to see you there!
